Meet Our Wellness Specialist
Candace Jeffries
PharmD, PLPC
For 25 years, I served my community as a pharmacist, gaining a deep understanding of biochemistry, pharmacology, and the complexities of conventional healthcare. However, over the years, I realized that while managing symptoms is vital, true healing only happens when we uncover why those symptoms started in the first place.
Driven by a passion to help people thrive rather than just survive, I completed two years of rigorous, specialized training in Functional Medicine. I poured that knowledge into my clinic, Remedy Wellness, bridging the gap between clinical science and holistic, root-cause healing.
My deepest passion lies in supporting women navigating the turbulent waters of perimenopause. I know firsthand how frustrating it is to be told your labs are “normal” when you feel anything but. Utilizing my extensive pharmaceutical background, I specialize in targeted, evidence-based supplement protocols and hormone optimization to restore rhythm to your body.
My unique background allows me to look at your health through two distinct lenses: the precision of a seasoned pharmacist and the personalized, big-picture approach of a functional medicine practitioner. Whether you are dealing with debilitating perimenopausal shifts, chronic fatigue, or just feel “off,” I am here to listen to your story, decode your body’s signals, and build a personalized roadmap to help you reclaim your vitality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
Our wellness services do not bill insurance directly. This model is an intentional choice that allows us to focus entirely on your health rather than being restricted by the “high-volume, low-time” constraints of the traditional insurance system. By remaining out-of-network, we can provide the deep-dive appointments and root-cause analysis that functional medicine requires.
We can provide you with a Superbill (a detailed medical receipt) upon request. You may submit this to your insurance provider to seek out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that we cannot guarantee reimbursement, as every plan’s policies are different.
We believe in financial transparency, especially when it comes to diagnostics. We offer two ways to handle lab work. We can provide an order for you to take to a local lab (like Quest or Labcorp) to run through your traditional insurance coverage, or we offer transparent, discounted wholesale pricing that is often significantly lower than standard lab rates.
At this time, we are unable to accept patients who are currently enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid. Due to complex federal and state legislative requirements regarding the private-pay model, our clinical services are not eligible for coverage under these programs. Additionally, federal law prohibits us from providing “covered services” to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries under a private-pay agreement unless specific criteria are met that we do not currently support. We understand this may be disappointing and are happy to provide a list of local resources or providers who work directly with these programs if needed.
Can I use my FSA/HSA?
Yes. Most Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) recognize our services as eligible medical expenses. We can provide you with a detailed invoice (superbill) or receipt upon request to submit for documentation or potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Can I use you for primary care?
Think of us as your Partner in Functional Health Stewardship. For clients who are medically stable and looking to move beyond the “15-minute sick-care” model, we function as your clinical home base for the long game. This includes:
- Performing your comprehensive annual physical exam.
- Ordering and interpreting labs.
- Managing your preventive screenings (like mammograms or colonoscopies).
To keep our focus on deep-dive root causes and long-term vitality, our practice is not set up for acute/urgent care (the “right now” concerns like strep or UTIs) or managing complex, multi-medication regimes. We ask that clients maintain a relationship with a traditional local clinic for those “quick-fix” or emergency needs.
I am here to help you steward your health, connect the dots, and stay on the path to optimal function.
Do you treat children?
At this time we see patients 18 and up.
